compatible

I like to keep my pulse on what my readers are searching for on this blog and there seems to be a stream of readers searching for ways to fix the device compatibility issue that comes up when trying to install certain apps. Over the past year, there have been a number of apps that will just not work on the Nook Color with CM7. Alot of these apps are gaming apps.

Finally, there is a way to create a CM7 card for the Nook Tablet. Although I’m not offering the cards, yet, here are instructions you can use to create your very own CM7 SD card for Nook Tablet. It works in the same way the CM7 SD card for Nook Color does, but this card is specifically for the NOOK TABLET 8gb or 16gb – it will not work on Nook Color or your Android phone.

Since December 2011, I’ve been receiving a large number of emails regarding a CM7 card for Nook Tablet. Positive steps have been made to move forward with offering a CM7 card that will work on to run Android on Nook Tablet. I’m still testing the cards out and trying to make sure that it runs as smoothly as the CM7 card for Nook Color.

Titanium Restore Beta

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I have been supporting a few readers via email. Over the past few days, a lot of the emails have been on the topic of lost apps and self-made corrupted SD cards. Most users were concerned about being able to retrieve all the apps they had downloaded. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post on on Backing up and Restoring your apps, but I think this subject merits a revisit.

Overclocking

If you’ve followed my blog and some of the Android forums out there, you may have seen some discussions about “overclocking” CM7. If you are a newbie, you may have no clue what this means or what it can do for your Nook Color. So, in this post I will put it in plain English for you.

Over the past few weeks, developers shared a download link for a CM7 version for Nook Tablet. But don’t get excited yet! As quickly as they put the link up, they took it back down. It seems that the beta version of CM7 for the Nook Tablet has quite a few bugs – too many to make it a usable version.

set lockscreen

received an email from a user who had set his lockscreen pattern but when would wake his screen the screen would not lock. So I set out to see if I could help him figure out what was going on. The main culprit appears to be that lockscreen is disabled by default and must be turned on.

Hey Everyone! I’ve installed a new feature on my blog for all of you who are using this blog to learn more about your Nook Color and how to use it as an Android Tablet.  I’ve added a “Print this Post” icon which allows you to not only print the post but remove anything you don’t want to keep from my posts.  It will help you save paper and get only the information you want to keep.

I’ve received a lot of questions on how to Factory Reset (hard reset) a Nook Color. A Factory Reset wipes our your Nook Completely and should also roll back your updates. So if you are running 1.4 on your Nook Color and unable to boot from your CM7 card this may be a another alternative to rolling back your Nook Color.

Over the past year (well almost a year), I’ve been posting about the Nook Color and concentrating on single tasks. Today, I’d like to offer you some tips to help improve your N2A experience. So here are my Top 3 tips:

A few weeks ago, I wrote a post on How to Delete the Default Account from Your Card (it was actually a video).  This is an updated post because in my haste, I failed to add an important step. So here’s is the corrected version.

In the video, I tell you to download “Root Explorer” which is correct. However, I failed to mention that you should also download “SQLite Editor”.  SQLite works with Root Explorer so all you have to do it download and let it install.  Then you will use Root Explorer to access the Account.db and delete the default account. Check out my video below:

Over the past few days I’ve received a ton of emails from people who have created their own cards and aren’t able to boot up in Android mode. There seems to be a common these here – more than 98% of them have installed the lastest Barnes and Nobles software update 1.4 for Nook Color.

After over 100 emails and pleads from everyone in need of dire help when it comes to creating your CM7 card, I’m offering a Fix My Card service. If you have tried to create your own card and can’t get it to work, you can purchase the service at only $8.50 (which includes the cost of shipping it back to you) and I’ll fix your card for you.

Video: how to make a cm7 card using your mac

This question is usually followed by, “can you provide instructions?” The answer is yes. Although if you search the net you can more than likely find these same instructions, but here is my version.

I’ve received a few emails from people who received the Nook Color or the Nook Tablet for Christmas and are wondering how they can turn their device into a nifty Android Tablet. So in this post I won’t offer any brilliant new news but I will list previous posts on how to root your Nook Color using a microSD card.

Just a quick post for all you last minute shoppers. There are 9 days left til Christmas, US orders placed after Sunday, December 18th will not arrive in time for Christmas. At this time all International orders will arrive after Christmas.

As I mentioned in my last post “No Go! CM7 on New Nook Tablet”, the CM7 SD cards I am offering will not work on the New Nook Tablets.

I’ve been getting a lot of emails and phone calls asking if the CM7 cards we offer here on my blog will work on the new Nook Tablet. I hate to be the bearer of bad new. After some testing and research I’ve discovered that our trusty CM7 card will not work on the new Nook Tablet. Bummer, I know. But it still works on the Nook Color ;0)

Yesterday I shared a post on how to use Apps Organizer to organize all your apps using labels.  Today I’m gonna share how you can create “Catalogs” to organize your apps right in the app launcher.  So let’s get started.

* Tap on the app launcher icon, you know the box with the 4 squares, this will take you to the screen where you can view all your apps.

* Now tap on the Menu icon and tap on “Choose Catalog”, from the menu tap on “New Catalog”.

* Give your new catalog a name.  Now you will have a blank screen with the new catalog name on the top.

* Now tap on the menu button > Setup Catalog.  You’ll get a full list of all your apps. Just tap on the apps you want to include in the new catalog, then tap OK.

That’s it.  Creating catalog just adds a new screen you can scroll through by swiping from right to left in the app launcher screen.

apps in launcher

If you have a ton of apps on your CM7 Nook Color, you may find it a bit difficult to navigate through them all and find the one you want in the launcher. Yes they are in alphabetical order but it can still take a bit longer to find the app you want in a sea of apps.

I’m a strong believer in backing up your files. I’m also an avid Dropbox user. In this post I’ll share a great way to create a backup of your apps and files on CM7 which you can use to restore in the event of a total failure of your microSD card.

Over the past few days I’ve been providing help via email to a few of my readers who wanted to update to the latest B&N 1.3 update. The issue? The update was failing, no matter if it was pushed by B&N or sideloaded. A sure sign of the update failing to install is the little android guy with a caution triangle and exclamation point.

This post was sent to me by Fran Sitton who purchased a microSD card from this blog and who has embarked on the journey of converting her Nook Color to an Android Tablet. Fran wanted to copy some movies to her Nook Color with CM7 for viewing while traveling. Here’s how she got it to work
